Our story

Built by people who've
been there.

We've all hung up with an insurance company more confused than when we called. We've all gotten a bill we didn't expect. We built Catbird because we were tired of waiting for someone else to fix it.

Why we exist

The American healthcare system is extraordinarily complex — and that complexity is not an accident. It benefits the people who profit from confusion: insurers, billing departments, and middlemen of every kind.

Patients are left to navigate it alone, armed with a benefits booklet nobody reads and a customer service line that puts them on hold.

Catbird exists to change that. We're building the advocate most people wish they had — one that explains your benefits in plain English, helps you understand what care will cost before you receive it, and gives you the confidence to push back when something isn't right.

What we stand for

Aligned incentives

We will never build a business around selling your data, taking referral fees from providers, or profiting from your confusion. Our only job is to help you.

Radical clarity

Healthcare is complicated. We're not going to pretend otherwise — but we are going to translate it. Plain English, always.

Patient-first, always

Every decision we make starts with one question: does this make things better for the patient? Not the payer. Not the provider. The patient.

Built in the open

We're inviting real people into the process early — not to validate a finished product, but to shape what we build from the ground up.

Help us build it.

We're looking for people who've felt the frustration firsthand to join our early research community.
